How to drink a Far West

07/20/2026

Drinking beer isn’t just about drinking beer. It’s a ritual. A moment. An experience. And when it comes to craft beer, the experience is even more important. Because every bottle tells a story, and every sip deserves to be savoured.

When is the best time to drink a Far West? The answer is: it depends. It depends on the beer, it depends on the company, it depends on the moment. A Golden Star is perfect for a summer’s afternoon, after a day at the beach. A Lucky Red is a wonderful accompaniment to dinner with friends. A Bad Barley is ideal for a winter’s evening by the fire. A Desert Wheat is refreshing at any time of day. But the golden rule is this: the best time to drink a Far West is whenever you can enjoy it at your leisure.

The temperature at which you serve a beer radically changes its flavour. Too cold, and the aromas are masked. Too warm, and the flavours become unbalanced. Golden Star and Desert Wheat: served well chilled (4–6 °C). Lucky Red and Wild APA: served slightly warmer (6–8 °C). Black Diamond, Smoke Moon, The Preacher and Bad Barley: 8–12 °C, almost cellar temperature. Take the time to take the bottle out of the fridge a few minutes before serving. You’ll notice the difference.

The glass matters too. A glass that concentrates the aromas, such as a tulip glass or a glass specifically designed for each style, enhances the experience. But if you don’t have a special glass, don’t worry. The important thing is that the glass is clean and dry.

Did you know that craft beer can be paired with food just like wine? Give it a try: Golden Star with chicken, white fish, seafood or Japanese food. Lucky Red with red meat, ham, strong cheeses or Chinese food. Black Diamond with strong cheeses, nuts, smoked foods or desserts. Desert Wheat with cold cuts, lamb, chicken or fish. Wild APA with fish, chicken or vegetables. Smoke Moon with smoked foods, grilled meats, vegetables or cold cuts. The Preacher with cheeses, nuts, cakes or chocolate desserts. Bad Barley with red meats, mature cheeses, nuts or desserts.

A good beer is best enjoyed in good company. But even if you’re on your own, it’s still a treat. Because the real luxury of craft beer is that you can drink it alone or with others, and it will always be a pleasure.

Don’t drink a Far West the way you would drink a mass-produced beer. Don’t drink it in one go. Pour it into a glass, observe it (look at its colour and head), smell it (let the aromas envelop you) and, finally, taste it. Let the flavour unfold on your palate. A Far West isn’t just drunk. It’s savoured. Ready for the experience? Place your order in our online shop and discover the flavour of Almería.
